Step 3 - Show Your Links Directory This is the most VITAL part of linking for traffic. If a links directory cannot be found easily by your visitors as they leave it is a total waste of time as far as your traffic is concerned. Remember what we said previously, on EVERY page of your site there is a little red X at the top right of the browser that will take your visitors from your site. At the top left there is a home button that will take visitors from your site. You cannot control that, but you CAN steer them towards another webmaster who needs visitors just like you. Remember ALL YOUR VISITORS WILL LEAVE!!!!! Do not be scared of this, by working with other sites with honest open links you can take advantage of it. To link for traffic successfully you need to move that tiny text link from the bottom of the page and put it back in your MAIN navigation, ON ALL PAGES OF YOUR SITE. By all means, put it at the bottom of your navigation, but include it. Just as important, name the button or text link that leads to your directory "LINKS". Why??? Because it makes it abundantly clear to your visitors what it leads to. Not everyone knows that "resources" leads to a links page. Do you call your contact page "Communication Center"? No, you don't. Break that rotten SEO thinking and stop being scared of people leaving your site. Other sites will not be willing to send you their departing visitors unless you are openly doing the same. Trust us when we say this, a visitor will not click on your links button until they are ready to leave. You are a surfer too, when you get to a site what do you do??? You look around, you see if they have the info or product you are interested in, you are not going to leave until you have established that, are you? Have confidence in your site!
